Lab Specialist Senior, Smith Lab - Asthma, Allergy and Immunology

The Division of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology is seeking a full time Lab Specialist Senior to facilitate research activities across various disciplines in the laboratory of Dr. Scott Smith. Duties and responsibilities will include designing and implementing studies and analyzing data associated with our animal research. Included within these responsibilities is managing and maintaining the transgenic mouse colony, animal data, genotyping and documentation, and continuing and amending IACUC protocols as is needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparing for and conducting experiments and analyses in a laboratory setting
Managing projects and processes
Coaching, reviewing and delegating work as needed to other professionals in the lab
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience required.
Licensure: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position.
This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.
