Hyperion Intelligence (Hyperion) is seeking highly motivated and experienced financial professionals to support business owners of mid‑market, privately held companies and the leading private equity/credit firms and family offices that invest in and transact with them.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead the valuation services team by determining the appropriate valuation methodologies, financial models, and private markets data for executing certified valuations, fairness and solvency opinions, mark‑to‑market portfolio pricing, and other financial and tax reporting assignments.
You will play a key role across all client engagements and take responsibility for delivering exceptional client experiences. Key requirements include expertise in valuation, financial modeling, project management, and relationship building. The role also demands a commitment to excellence and strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
Leading the valuation services team by determining appropriate valuation methodologies and reviewing financial models and private markets data for fairness and solvency opinions and mark‑to‑market pricing engagements
Coordinating with the Managing Director and calling on prospective clients including transactional lawyers, alternative investment managers (private equity, private credit, BDCs, etc.), financial institutions, executive and owners of privately held businesses and family offices
Managing, training and developing analysts, associates and managers
Identifying and communicating potential engagements to management and writing business proposals and engagement letters
Demonstrating accountability and reliability by consistently delivering high‑quality results and meeting expectations
Providing quality control oversight across client engagement teams
Cultivating and maintaining positive, productive, and professional relationships with colleagues and clients
Collaborating cross‑functionally to help train and build innovative technologies
Growing the valuation services practice
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of five years’ experience gained at a Big 4 or other reputable consulting firm, investment bank or independent valuation firm
Demonstrated mastery performing business valuations and fairness opinions, portfolio valuations, purchase price allocations, impairment testing and other financial reporting related assignments, estate and gift tax valuation, transaction opinions, and corporate tax valuations.
Proficiency in designing financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses
Ability to develop valuation approaches for various forms of securities including equity and debt securities, loans, structured instruments and intangible assets
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills including the ability to critically analyze companies understand key business issues, value drivers and risks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience successfully managing teams of analysts and associates
Ability to act as a primary point of contact with clients
Ability to effectively multi‑task, managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
Experience building meaningful relationships and leveraging strong interpersonal skills to create trust and drive outcomes
High proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Math with excellent academic record
Understanding of authoritative guidance related to valuations
Active CPA and ABV or ASA
High‑Agency: Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and the ability to operate effectively with limited guidance. High‑agency individuals take responsibility for results, anticipate needs, and move projects forward independently while collaborating thoughtfully with others.
Preferred Qualifications
CFA preferred but not required
Exhibits strong entrepreneurial mindset
Ability to apply advanced analytical and quantitative skills to uncover insights and drive data‑informed strategies
Intellectual curiosity of drivers behind general economic conditions and industry specific conditions and trends
Experience with accounting and financial data integrations
Knowledge of Python and/or Tableau / Power Bi
Experience with machine learning or AI/LLM tools
Compensation Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
$140,000/year to $160,000/year + bonus + equity
