Location:

Conveniently located off I-395 in central MA (Onsite)

Compensation:

$100K- $120K- Commensurate with experience

About the Opportunity

An established and highly regulated chemical manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead compliance, safety, and environmental initiatives across its operations. This newly created role is ideal for a hands‑on EHS leader with deep expertise in OSHA, EPA, and DEP regulations, and experience driving compliance in a chemical processing or manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position will oversee direct reports and play a key leadership role in ensuring all processes, safety systems, and audits meet federal and state requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility.

Ensure compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and the EPA’s Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements.

Oversee safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.

Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.

Monitor compliance with MA DEP, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.

Partner with leadership to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

Manage hazardous materials programs, including HAZWOPER and DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation standards.

Utilize EHS software and tracking systems to report incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

5+ years of EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing or chemical processing environment (required).

Proven experience ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DEP, and other regulatory standards.

Strong understanding of PSM, RMP, TURA, and RCRA programs.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field (preferred). Equivalent experience will be considered.

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to influence safety culture at all levels.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

Environmental Professional Certification (CEP)

HAZWOPER Certification

DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification
