GHD is seeking an intermediate
Engineer/Geologist/Scientist
to work with our
Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR)
group as a CAR professional. This position will be based out of GHD office in St. Louis, Missouri. This role presents an opportunity to enhance and further your professional expertise. Our St. Louis office is seeking a candidate prepared to serve as a vital link between project managers and junior staff, with responsibilities that include mentoring team members both on-site and in-office. The position involves undertaking project coordination and management duties for both new and ongoing projects. Our projects are located throughout the Midwest, which entails some travel, primarily within Missouri and Illinois. Additionally, our office participates in the emergency response team (FIRST), providing opportunities to support emergency activities such as air monitoring during pipeline leaks or derailments. GHD will offer training for air monitoring tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
Provide technical and project management services to our existing and future clients on a variety of projects
Prepare technical evaluations and correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets
Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
Review and coordinate consistency across various disciplines preparing drawings, calculations, and various technical evaluations
Interact with internal and external clients, contractors and service providers
Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures
Participate in a proactive safety culture of continuous improvement
Client engagement approach and stewardship
Complex problem solving as it relates to environmental remediation and economic decision making
Balancing the triangle of Scope, Schedule, and Budget to produce the best results possible for our clients
Diverse professional networks spanning the globe and multitudes of disciplines

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
5-10 years’ experience including a mix of field, data evaluation and interpretation and technical report writing
Professional Engineering Designation/License a plus
Experience preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, closure and post-closure monitoring.
Understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing a variety of contaminants including VOCs, SVOCs, metals, and PFAS.
Understanding of site infrastructure including utilities, pumping and conveyance systems, stormwater collection, and other civil works.
Working knowledge of the design and operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
Working knowledge of environmental containment systems including landfills, containment cells, leachate management, barrier walls, and collection/pumping systems.
Experience in preparation of development of conceptual design alternatives and cost estimates.
Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment.
Working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air and groundwater.
Conduct research, collect and analyze data to prepare reports and documents
Critical thinking and problem solving – ability to identify multiple solutions to a problem
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude, very strong interpersonal skills
Establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships with superiors, co-workers and clients – effective collaborators are welcome
Self-starter and willingness to work in a team in a fast-paced environment
Interested in continuing professional development
OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
Knowledge of the Midwest market is a plus

Salary: $73,300.00 - $120,500.00, varies based on experience and location.

Paid time off – Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program.
