Join MedMark Treatment Centers as a Substance Use Counselor.
We are looking for a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to assist patients through medically assisted treatments and provide techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor will conduct individual and group sessions, evaluate progress, and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to achieve overall outcomes.
Responsibilities Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and provide techniques for handling opioid addiction. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for crisis management and coping strategies. Evaluate patients’ progress and collaborate with the healthcare team to support overall outcomes. Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment. Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient. Complete biopsychosocial assessments. Develop aftercare and discharge plans. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in a trauma‑informed manner. Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor.
Qualifications Must possess a Texas CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, or LICDC. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred. Demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients. Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records). Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
