Job Summary
International Flavors and Fragrances, Inc. seeks a Senior Designer, Nutritional Beverage in South Brunswick, NJ. The role supports the development of nutritional beverage projects in North America, providing technical support in person when necessary and virtually. The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related field and 10 years of progressively responsible experience in food or beverage formulation, ingredient science, and product development.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development of nutritional beverage projects across North America.
Provide technical support in person or virtually to cross‑functional teams.
Utilize experience with ingredients such as hydrocolloids, proteins, cellulosics, emulsifiers, and sweeteners to create consumer‑acceptable beverages.
Apply knowledge of hydrocolloids, proteins, and flavor applications in food and beverage development.
Mentor junior staff on product development and formulation.
Support formulation and product development processes.
Apply food processing techniques, including thermal treatments, to beverage formulations.
Use knowledge of the chemical and functional properties of food ingredients to support product development.
Qualifications
10 years of progressively responsible experience in food or beverage formulation.
Expertise in hydrocolloids, proteins, cellulosics, emulsifiers, and sweeteners.
Demonstrated experience in flavor applications for beverage development.
Experience mentoring junior staff and leading formulation projects.
Knowledge of food processing techniques and thermal treatments.
Strong understanding of the chemical and functional properties of food ingredients.
Employment Details Location: South Brunswick, NJ Travel: 10–20% nationally and internationally Salary: $123,802–$176,800 per year Hours: 40 hours per week
