Responsibilities
Lead by example and be responsible for the well‑being of the Parts Department with proactive, positive behavior.
Discuss uses and features of various parts.
Read and work accurately from catalogs, parts manuals, price books, online resources, and microfiche viewer for replacement part stock numbers and prices.
Fill customer orders from stock.
Press tires as needed.
Prepare sales orders for invoicing.
Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when replacements are not available.
Order parts for stock and for customers.
Receive and fill telephone, email, and walk‑in counter orders for parts and promote overall sales.
Pull stock and fill orders as needed.
Assist in taking inventory of stock.
Participate in cycle counting of inventory.
Participate in annual inventories at assigned location and others as requested.
Report to all customers the status of their backorders within an acceptable time frame.
Work with and support other Parts Sales Specialists regarding the sale of material handling equipment.
Assist at back counter and in stockroom as directed or as needed.
Actively participate in Parts Department training and meetings.
Assist Stockroom Rack Clerk with maintenance of part number labeling, loading/unloading, tagging, staging, pulling orders, and cleanliness of product storage in the yard.
Assist with receiving product physically and electronically.
Keep work area, the warehouse, and the lot clean, free of debris, with all equipment parked in neat, even rows.
Complete assigned housekeeping tasks each day.
Always work in a safe manner following all safety practices and policies of Raymond West.
Perform various duties directly or indirectly associated with parts sales activity or as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Maintain effective working relationships with employees, co‑workers, and managers in other departments.
Willingness to work off‑hours as specific needs dictate and to assume more responsibility as required.
Fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Working knowledge of EBS and MS Excel.
Willingness to learn new computer programs, inventory procedures, parts manuals, and price books.
Willingness to support all phases of the department and company as needed.
Perform duties under minimal supervision, adjust to changes, and demonstrate drive and initiative.
Continuously learn new products and procedures.
Manage time effectively.
Interpret parts manuals and computer programs successfully.
Present a neat, mature, and responsible appearance.
Work off‑hours, after 5 PM and before 6 AM, and on weekends as specific needs dictate.
Maintain a professional attitude in all matters.
Be motivated for continuous self‑development and training.
Assume additional responsibility as required.
Perform duties with minimal supervision and respond to rapidly varying input requirements.
Demonstrate drive, initiative, and self‑confidence.
Comply with the RW Employee Handbook.
Maintain a good attendance record.
Manage overtime to a minimum.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Position is non‑sedentary.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Job sites where construction is underway.
Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
Use hands, fingers, or arms to feel, handle, or reach.
Occasional smell required.
Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
Exposure to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
Noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
Pay Range
The hourly range is $25.00 – $30.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by experience, education, and location.
