DESCRIPTION Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required This position requires experience with the following: architecting, designing, and implementing robust software solutions for complex payment processing systems with high availability and fault tolerance; utilizing Java 17 and J2EE to develop high-performance applications; applying design patterns and best practices to ensure maintainability and scalability; analyzing nuances between Instant Payments, high-value payments (e.g., wire transfers, Real-Time Gross Settlement systems) and low-value payments (e.g., ACH transactions, debit card payments) to ensure optimal processing efficiency and risk management; designing and integrating payment gateway solutions that enable secure and efficient transaction processing; using performance metrics and analytics to drive improvements; designing and implementing microservices-based architectures that promote independent deployment, resilience, and scalability of payment applications; utilizing Kubernetes for orchestration and managing containerized application deployment, scaling, and management; implementing sharding and in-memory caching techniques for low latency processing; architecting and deploying applications using AWS cloud services; implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools including Terraform to automate the deployment and management of cloud resources; integrating Apache Kafka to design and implement event-driven architectures, ensuring efficient data streaming and real-time processing capabilities across microservices; utilizing Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment, automating the build and release processes to enhance development efficiency and software quality; integrating automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber for behavior-driven development (BDD); participating in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to ensure iterative development and continuous delivery of high-quality software; collaborating with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines; integrating automated testing and deployment processes to enhance development efficiency and software quality; utilizing monitoring and logging tools including Splunk to track application performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement optimizations based on empirical data; conducting load testing and stress testing to ensure applications can handle expected traffic, making adjustments based on performance metrics; and maintaining comprehensive documentation of software design, architecture, and workflows to facilitate team collaboration and onboarding.

Full-Time. Salary Salary: $176,400 - $185,000 per year.
