SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst plays a critical role in evaluating and overseeing alternative investments and private market opportunities. This position involves conducting in-depth due diligence on potential investment solutions, presenting recommendations to the investment product committee, and ensuring ongoing monitoring and updates for funds approved on the platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in alternative assets, such as private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and venture capital, with a focus on risk assessment, performance analysis, and market insights to support informed decision-making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on alternative investment and private market solutions, including reviewing fund strategies, historical performance, management teams, operational structures, and risk profiles. • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, such as financial statements, return metrics, volatility measures, liquidity terms, and fee structures, to assess investment viability. • Prepare detailed reports, investment memos, and presentations for the investment product committee, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and potential risks. • Present investment opportunities and due diligence results to the committee, addressing questions and providing supporting evidence to facilitate approval decisions. • Maintain up-to-date diligence on approved funds through periodic reviews, monitoring performance against benchmarks, tracking market changes, and identifying any emerging risks or opportunities. • Collaborate with internal teams, including portfolio managers, compliance, and legal, to ensure alignment with overall investment strategies and regulatory requirements. • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in alternative investments to enhance due diligence processes. • Support ad-hoc projects, such as benchmarking analyses, competitor reviews, or platform enhancements related to private market offerings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES: • Deep knowledge of alternative asset classes, including private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and real assets. • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, or similar), and interpreting complex financial data. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical audiences, such as committee members. • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • High level of integrity, independence, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly. • Team-oriented mindset with the capacity to work collaboratively while also operating autonomously on assignments.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE : • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; • Advanced degree (MBA) or professional certifications (CFA, CAIA, or equivalent) strongly preferred. • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, due diligence, or asset management, with a focus on alternative investments and private markets.
