The Events Manager is responsible for developing event and content strategies that achieve line‑of‑business goals and priorities. The role works with Events Segment Executives, line‑of‑business leaders, Communications, and Marketing to develop strategic objectives, budgets, and execution plans. It provides direction on overall event plans to planners and cross‑functional teammates (AV, Security, Comms, Marketing), coordinates end‑to‑end planning, management, and execution of events, and manages detailed budgets, invitations, agendas, attendee management, logistics, vendor relationships, and post‑event reporting. The role requires travel to events and leading cross‑functional onsite teams.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning and coordination of complex client and internal events, including both in‑person and virtual.
Work with the Event Segment Executive, line of business, Communications, Marketing and Academy partners to develop strategic objectives, budget and execution plan for each program and for overall yearly plan of the line business event portfolio.
Serve as an advisor and event management expert to senior management, proposing value‑add event activities and directions around marketing and communications initiatives and priorities.
Ensure events are planned within company guidelines and manage all risks associated with events, engaging Compliance, Legal, Risk, Corporate Security and Corporate Communication partners as needed.
Advise and provide direction on the overall event plan to vendor planners.
Manage end‑to‑end event execution, including detailed budget creation, sourcing, invitation creation, agenda development, planning technology tools, attendee management, logistics planning, pre‑ and post‑event reporting, invoice processing and event reconciliation.
Coordinate planning, management and execution of complex events, both in‑person and virtual.
Work with minimal supervision on a daily basis to deliver for stakeholders in the office and onsite at events, providing on‑site support of logistics for events, attendee and risk management.
Required Qualifications
10‑15 years large‑scale/complex conference and event production experience.
Extensive knowledge of event planning processes including contracting, logistics, onsite execution, budget management and reconciliation.
Stakeholder management experience leading cross‑functional teams with external partners.
Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presence and strategic influencing skills.
Strong financial management and experience managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
Ability to balance strategic direction with detail orientation.
Travel 20‑30% of the time.
