Base Pay Range $90,000 – $180,000 per year
Position Summary We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead and create initiatives for future strategies across Walmart’s omnichannel supply chain. This high‑impact, high‑visibility role requires an individual who can develop long‑term strategies and transformations for our rapidly growing omnichannel business.
Responsibilities
Manage and execute entire analytical projects from start to finish, including cross‑functional project management, data collection, manipulation, analysis, modeling, and communication of insights.
Build scalable and complex supply‑chain models and processes to optimize strategies while balancing customer experience, operating cost, and asset efficiency.
Develop creative solutions using statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization to improve existing business processes in supply chain.
Identify opportunities and influence execution of results through cross‑functional collaboration for quick wins and continuous improvement.
Create robust metrics and dashboards that enable tangible transformation.
Work independently to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and ensure data output is accurate and business‑relevant.
Make independent decisions about data and approach in ambiguous situations.
Communicate complex insights effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.
Analyze supply‑chain networks for future sales growth, performing scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis on distribution networks and transportation lanes.
Develop inventory planning and distribution strategies to optimize cost to serve and improve customer experience with tiered storage and dynamic real‑time distribution.
Develop truck‑load lane optimization logic and tools to balance cost and SLA requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years of analytics experience (Option 1).
Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 1 year of analytics experience (Option 2).
5 years of experience in an analytics or related field (Option 3).
Preferred Qualifications
Data science, machine learning, optimization models experience.
Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Econometrics.
Proficiency in Python, Spark, Scala, or R and open‑source frameworks such as scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, or torch.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
