This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States, however, preference will be given to the San Jose Bay Area.
The purpose of the Talent and Culture Business Partner is to support a variety of talent‑related activities focused around the company’s culture. This focused work may be centered around talent development and programmatic work in the areas of compensation, performance management, employee relations and compliance. You will interact with team members from varying parts of the business and at all levels.
To be successful in this role, you will be a self‑starter with strong written and verbal communication skills. You are detail‑oriented, execute your daily work with a sense of urgency and feel highly accountable for the work you are responsible for. You have an unequivocal commitment to confidentiality and you thrive in a fast‑paced environment. In addition, you also have strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and can identify areas in Calix’s processes or documentation that can be improved.
Responsibilities and Duties
Strategic partnership – Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders and employees in US & Canada
Talent Acquisition & Retention – Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring leaders to provide recruiting support and data‑driven strategies. Proactive partnership with leaders in ensuring key talent is retained.
Workforce planning and organizational development – Facilitate workforce planning discussion and steer organization development providing solutions that enhance business growth and transformation
Employee and Leadership development – Proactively monitor talent management processes and practices enabling employee and leadership development through career ladder discussion and succession planning
Front‑end talent initiatives – Own and spearhead talent related initiatives for the business on behalf of the Talent & Culture team
Global T&C support – Collaborate with regional Talent & Culture partners to adapt company‑wide initiatives to local needs while ensuring alignment
Employee Relations – Provide strategic Employee Relations support, business partnership through detailed investigation and documentation processes
Compensation & Bonus: Lead or support annual compensation and bonus planning, collaborate with compensation COE in ensuring market pay equity globally.
AI in Talent & Culture – Research on AI in HR and lead projects in Talent and culture that can result in quick efficiencies using AI. This will require working across functions in talent culture and at all levels.
Qualifications
Graduate or bachelor’s degree in human resources is highly desirable, or a combination of education and work experience
Minimum 7+ years of experience in business partnering or equivalent supporting an engineering or R&D team in the Tech industry
Experience working as a global business partner will be a plus
Practical exposure/project experience to using AI in HR or certifications in AI highly preferred
Project/program management skills
Detail oriented, highly organized and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
Strong verbal communication and professional writing skills
Previous experience with Workday
Occasional travel required for team off‑site meetings
Compensation The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job‑related knowledge, skills and experience.
San Francisco Bay Area: 104,700 - 157,600 USD Annual
Select US Metros And States: 91,000 - 137,000 USD Annual
Other US Locations: 81,900 - 123,300 USD Annual
