A leading manufacturer in the materials space is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to take ownership of one of their high-velocity logistics facilities. This closely-held opportunity offers the chance to lead a dynamic operations team, drive system improvements (including WMS/ERP integration), and be a key player in scaling fulfillment capabilities for both domestic and international channels. Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership Oversee all inbound, outbound, export and e-commerce fulfillment activities within the facility. Maintain inventory integrity, ensure optimal warehouse layout and manage order accuracy and throughput. Lead the implementation and optimization of the Warehouse Management System and ERP contacts to support automation and improved visibility. Manage compliance with safety, quality (ISO or equivalent standards), and regulatory requirements on a continuous basis. Strategic and Financial Alignment
Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service partners to ensure fulfillment strategies align with business objectives. Forecast space, labor and equipment needs based on growth and seasonal demand; drive budgeting and cost control for labor, freight and outsourced logistics. Lead initiatives to reduce cost per order, optimize storage and freight spend without compromising service levels. Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery accuracy, order cycle time, cost per order, inventory turnover, etc. Champion continuous improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions. Support digital transformation efforts (including analytics, dashboards, automation) to enable data-driven decisions and operational transparency. Team & Culture Development
Lead a multi-shift team (direct reports plus full facility staff) in a fast-paced environment; build high-performing, accountable and engaged workforce. Provide coaching, development plans, succession readiness and promote a safe, inclusive culture of operational excellence. Ensure leadership presence on the floor, visible engagement with staff, and clear communication of goals, expectations and results. Qualifications
Minimum 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in a distribution center, fulfillment operation or logistics center (ideally including e-commerce and export operations). Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, business or related field; MBA or advanced qualification preferred. Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software-SAP experience preferred. Proven track record managing high-volume, multi-modal shipping operations (LTL, TL, export, parcel) and driving cost and quality improvements. Demonstrated ability to lead sizable operations teams across shifts, influence cross-functional partners, and execute transformation initiatives. Strong strategic mindset, data orientation, problem-solving skills, and ability to deliver results in a dynamic manufacturing/distribution environment. Why This Role Matters
