We’re looking for a
Business Development Manager
to develop and implement business development and marketing strategies and tactics for the Practice Groups in accordance with firm policies and procedures. This individual will bring leadership and best practices to the business development department. Responsibilities
Partner with practice leaders to set and execute business development goals aligned with firm strategy, provide coaching on business development best practices and lead regular progress meetings. Manage full RFP process, including evaluation, drafting, coordination, and submission; maintain proposal content libraries to support efficient responses. Identify and pursue opportunities for client expansion, cross‑selling, and market visibility through events, sponsorships, and industry partnerships. Collaborate with the Events Team to develop event strategies, coordinate attorney participation, and measure ROI. Lead BD onboarding for new lateral hires, including business planning and internal positioning. Oversee creation and maintenance of marketing materials, practice descriptions, and attorney bios in collaboration with the Creative Team. Leverage InterAction, experience databases, and financial data to track opportunities and support strategic decisions. Monitor industry trends and contribute insights to support targeting and growth initiatives. Work closely with Regional Marketing Managers and cross‑functional teams to align national and regional BD efforts. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or education/experience equivalent required. Minimum of five years of progressive business development and/or marketing experience in professional services. Strong coaching skills in developing business and marketing opportunities, including responding to RFPs, strategic planning, competitive intelligence, seminars, speaking engagements, sponsorships, professional networking, and social media. Ability to make persuasive presentations on business development topics and develop and manage business development plans and sales pipelines. Experience with InterAction CRM preferred. Ability to oversee mentoring, coaching, and feedback to junior team members. Strong relationship building, emotional intelligence, and collaborative mindset. Client‑focused attitude with consultative approach and excellent client service. Ability to travel to business development events and/or meetings. Pay Range
New York: $140,000 – $155,000 per year Washington, DC: $130,000 – $150,000 per year Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending and healthcare savings accounts, 401(k) with firm profit share, paid time off, firm paid holidays, wellness and personal advocacy programs, family planning resources, leave programs, tuition reimbursement, and more.
