Workday Finance - Solutions & Platform Architect
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 12 months
We are seeking a Workday Finance Architect to lead AMS operations and continuous optimization across Workday Financial Management. This role ensures system stability, accurate financial processing, and alignment with global accounting and compliance standards. Acting as a bridge between business and technology, you will oversee enhancements, financial integrations, and governance across Core Financials, Procurement, and Projects.
Responsibilities
Lead AMS support for Workday Financial modules, including Accounting, FDM, Banking, Procurement, and Project Accounting.
Oversee incident, problem, and change management workflows for ongoing financial system stability.
Drive month‑end and year‑end close improvements, ensuring accuracy, reconciliations, and compliance.
Lead configuration and governance reviews for core financial processes.
Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Audit teams to maintain internal controls and SOX compliance.
Partner with Technical Architects to manage integrations with banks, vendors, and third‑party systems using Workday APIs or Cloud Connect.
Evaluate feature releases, manage regression testing, and adopt high‑value Workday functionality.
Analyze backlog and SLA metrics to measure AMS performance and improvement opportunities.
Support automation initiatives, process maturity, and enhanced reporting across Finance.
Maintain configuration inventories, documentation, and financial data dictionaries.
Participate in CAB and change control for AMS enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems.
Workday Financials certification required.
8+ years of Workday Financials experience, with 4+ years in AMS or Finance system delivery.
Strong understanding of FDM, Accounting, Procurement, Banking, and Projects modules.
Hands‑on experience with journal processing, reconciliation, Chart of Accounts, and financial integrations.
Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders and translate functional needs to technical solutions.
Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, or similar ITSM tools.
Familiarity with localizations for US, Mexico, or India accounting standards preferred.
Understanding of Workday Security and Financial Reporting models.
