Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of patients of all ages utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment strategies aimed at achieving both immediate and long-term goals related to communication and swallowing. Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions focused on various aspects of communication including language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing. Collaborate with fellow healthcare practitioners including occupational and physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop integrated care plans. Educate patients and their families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations, ensuring seamless care throughout the recovery process. Keep accurate and timely records in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay ahead in the field of speech-language pathology. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who have not achieved ASHA certification. Licenses & Certifications
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. BLS certification required within a month of starting position. Essential Skills
Strong foundation in evidence-based treatment strategies across all age groups, with knowledge of developmental and acquired communication disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and the care team. Ability to modify therapy techniques to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
