Summary PVEDI is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented

HR Generalist

to support the Human Resource function in our Houston office. This role plays a key part in advancing PVEDI's people‑centered culture by supporting a range of HR functions that promote collaboration, growth, and operational excellence. This position directly supports the Architecture team and serves as the first point of contact for HR matters. With a team of approximately 40+ staff, this is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who is ready to multi‑task, expand their knowledge base, and grow into a management role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent work experience.

3 - 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.

Working knowledge of HR operations, talent acquisition, recruitment & staffing, benefits, and immigration.

Proficiency with professional employment organizations (PEO), performance management tools, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information professionally and confidentially.

Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in an on‑site work environment.

Responsibilities

Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.

Serve as the first point of contact for HR policies, benefits, and employee relations, fostering a supportive and respectful workplace.

Administer benefits, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.

Support PVEDI's performance management system, coordinate check‑ins, and assist with training and professional development initiatives.

Assist with HR initiatives such as internships, job shadow programs, career fair planning, office events, and service awards that strengthen collaboration and belonging.

Manage office operations including verifying weekly timesheets, vacation accruals, payroll coordination, licensure compliance, and safety.
