Summary Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! This position is to be the CEMAT Bremerton CNAP Corrosion Control Assessor/Inspector. In this role, the person will be responsible for conducting inspections in accordance with the Corrosion Control Assessment and Maintenance Manual (CCAMM), Maintenance and Scheduling work package (M&SWP) and Material Condition Feedback (MCF) form. Also, the candidate will conduct Ship's Force training for Shipboard Corrosion Assessment and Reporting (SCAR) and hands‑on deck plate training onboard All West Coast Aircraft Carriers. This is a full‑time position, located in Bremerton, WA.

What You Will Do

Perform inspections of, but not limited to, the following:

JP-5 tanks, Sponson voids, Dry voids, Damage Control Voids, CHT and Oily waste tanks, Cofferdams, Bilges, Above the bilges, AESS stations, Catwalks, Catapults Water Brake Tanks, Catapult Wing Voids, Catapults Support System, Arresting Gears Sheave Foundations, AFFF stations, Freeing ports, JBD Pits, Barricade Stanchion Wells, Vent plenums, Mast, Island, 49 Tower and Vent Plenums.

Condut trainings with Ships Force onboard aircraft carriers.

Master understanding of production and processes. Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.

May provide direction and lead others. May manage one or more multiple jobs. Completes comprehension of specialty trades functions and tools.

Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.

Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.

Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. May perform quality inspections on finished product.

Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

What You Must Have

High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience.

Experience inspecting and closing out JP-5 tanks/voids Corrosion Control assessors conducting shipboard corrosion assessments.

Experience flushing aviation fuel and lubricating oil systems.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing Aviation Fuels equipment (valves, pumps).

Knowledge of the 3-M system.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be customer service oriented.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong computer skills.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance, passport and base access.

Preferred: Bonus Points For

A minimum of one active-duty tour onboard a US Navy CVN.

Proven expertise in corrosion control inspections as a member of the Ships Force Tank & Void team.

Previous experience working with CNAP Corrosion Control Team.

A current or active DoD security clearance.

Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
