ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY — Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. The Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice is a full-time faculty member of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department. The position teaches 12 credit hours per semester. While teaching is the primary responsibility, advising, service, and scholarship in the discipline are also expected in this tenure-track appointment. Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned. Teach core and elective undergraduate criminal justice courses, which may include the following: CRMJ 315 Research Methods in Criminal Justice, CRMJ 110 Orientation to Criminal Justice Inquiry, CRMJ 201 Introduction to Criminal Justice, CRMJ 302 Ethics in Criminal Justice, and upper-division electives in the candidate’s area of expertise. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Required: Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Public Administration, or related field. At least two years of experience teaching undergraduate-level criminal justice courses. Experience with basic classroom technology. Preferred Qualifications: At least five years of experience teaching in higher education. Experience teaching courses in policing and/or upper-division courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Experience teaching through various modalities (in person, hybrid, online). Experience with learning management systems, video conferencing software, and Microsoft Office Programs. Salary and Benefits
