Remote Outpatient Coder

Job Description The remote Outpatient Coder is responsible for assigning diagnosis and appropriate Modifier codes using ICD‑10‑CM utilizing coding systems. This coder will be working on Labs, X‑Rays, Ancillary, SDS and OBS accounts. Responsible for coding Outpatient records with a focus on Radiology/Ancillary accounts but also be able to assist coding SDS and OBS ensuring proper CPT, ICD‑10 assignment for all coded records. Client would like to have someone who can move around as needed to assist in other areas. Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Extensive knowledge of 3M encoder, Meditech is required. Must have a minimum 2yrs recent Acute Care Outpatient coding experience. Comfortable with hitting a 95% accuracy or better and hitting productivity standards. Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology.

Minimum Required Qualifications Must have a High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) years recent acute care hospital Outpatient Radiology/Ancillary Coding and abstracting experience. Extensive knowledge with recent 3M and Meditech software. CCS, RHIA, or RHIT Credentials required. Strong communication (written/verbal) with experience in writing queries Must be technically savvy.

Working Hours Needed Mon – Fri or weekends, 40 hours a week Flexible hours during training and prebill review process
