Job Description
The Amenity Collective is North America’s leading provider of single-source solutions across the aquatics, fitness, and recreation industries. We deliver customized services—staffing, construction, design, consulting, and operations—to supercharge long-term success for clients and their aquatics, fitness, and recreation spaces.
We are looking for a Controller to join our team at The Amenity Collective, based out of our corporate headquarters in Owings Mills, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting and its related processes that is complimented by a demonstrated ability to increase efficiency, process improvement and standardization within their function. An individual fully performing in this role would be a trusted advisor to their finance partners and operations. The Controller will drive positive outcomes for the organization in the daily financial activities and deliver strong financial reporting compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day financial accounting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with company objectives.
Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for their operations to deliver accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and within corporate deadlines.
Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial results, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision‑making.
Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment to ensure compliance with SOX requirements; serve as primary owner of internal control documentation and testing.
Support audit inquiries from internal and external auditors.
Maintain and optimize financial systems and reporting tools, ensuring integrity of data and efficiency of reporting processes.
Develop, document, and regularly update standard operating procedures (SOPs) across relevant accounting workstreams to drive consistency, scalability, and process improvement.
Partner with cross‑functional teams (e.g., Operations, Sales, HR, IT) to ensure alignment of financial and accounting processes with business objectives.
Support company‑wide system implementations and process improvement initiatives, including ERP upgrades, financial reporting enhancements, and automation efforts.
Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by executive leadership.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Minimum 6 years in progressive accounting experience.
Proficient in US GAAP.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work streams, while prioritizing the critical items across multiple finance function responsibilities to achieve results.
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals across functions and at all organizational levels, including executive management and operating personnel.
Experience in an enterprise resource financial planning system required.
Establishing and maintaining an effective internal control environment.
Ability to travel on an as‑needed basis.

Compensation The Controller position has a salary of $110,000 - $130,000 per annum.
