The Role

Responsible for developing, testing, and deployment of unified communications applications and services to include VoIP, web conferencing, presence, instant messaging, and video communication systems. Will provide support for telephone programming dial plans and route patterns, VoIP endpoints, application and service management, vulnerability remediation, and other daily tasks within the field. Will utilize software and hardware tools to identify moderate to complex problems and factors affecting UC applications and services, network, and application performance. Individual will be responsible for completing trouble tickets and requests for customer VoIP and collaboration services. Individual will provide inventory management of telecommunications equipment. Provides regular monitoring and network/application analysis for short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. The successful candidate will also be expected to enforce policy and processes for VoIP, collaboration and video evaluations, installs, upgrades, and problem resolutions. May propose solutions to management based on future needs and current usage, and configurations to enhance user experience and optimize cost savings. Prepares or ensures that appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions. This position may perform work outside of normal business hours and on weekends, and provide rotational on-call support.

Qualifications

Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience. One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Nice to Have Strong understanding of infrastructure platforms including networks, servers and storage as related to Unified Communications Strong understanding of TCP/IP networks, routing and switching protocols, DNS, and DHCP Experience managing virtual machines on operating systems including WINDOWS, UNIX, and LINUX Strong programming and scripting experience using languages like Windows Scripting, Powershell, Splunk Query Language, and SQL
