Position Title: Project Manager – Plumbing Division Company: Zapas Construction Salary Range: $120,000–$140,000+ annually, depending on experience Location: New York City, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: President / Licensed Master Plumber

Job Overview Zapas Construction is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead plumbing and fire suppression projects from award through closeout. This role is critical to the successful execution of multifamily, affordable housing, and public works construction across New York City. You’ll manage budgets, schedules, submittals, and field staff while ensuring compliance with NYC Plumbing Code and agency regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in NYC construction processes, excellent leadership skills, and a hands‑on approach to project execution.

Key Responsibilities Oversee all phases of plumbing and fire suppression projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Coordinate and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.

Develop and track project schedules and budgets, ensuring projects stay on time and within scope.

Supervise and support field teams to ensure work complies with NYC Plumbing Code and DOB standards.

Liaise with general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and agency officials.

Prepare and manage change orders, progress billing, and material procurement.

Conduct routine jobsite visits to assess progress, safety compliance, and workmanship quality.

Maintain project logs and reporting using project management platforms (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.).

Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience managing plumbing or fire suppression projects in NYC.

Strong knowledge of NYC Plumbing Code, DOB permitting, and local agency regulations.

Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore or Buildertrend.

Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

Detail‑oriented and organized, with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.

Competitive salary based on experience ($120,000–$140,000+).
