Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown – 3E, 30 beds
Shift:
12-hour nights; every other weekend and holiday required
Contract Duration:
13-16 weeks (preference for 16 weeks)

Estimated Weekly Salary:
$1680 - $1800 per week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
Minimum 1 year of RN experience in acute care or hospital setting
6 months of acute care hospital experience (preferred)
BLS certification (required before patient care)
ACLS and NIHSS certifications (preferred)
Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
Neuro nursing experience preferred
EPIC EHR and Critical Care Course experience (preferred)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
Safely administer medications and treatments per hospital policies
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams; advocate for patients
Manage neuro, cardiac, renal, and med/surg patients (post-cath, arrhythmias, post-pacemakers, syncope, chronic renal failure)
Administer Heparin drips, IV blood pressure medications, and oxygen therapy (stable trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow; no ventilators)
Monitor patient conditions and respond using evidence-based clinical judgment
Educate patients and families throughout illness and recovery
Maintain accurate documentation; uphold patient safety and privacy standards
Participate in ongoing quality improvement and clinical support initiatives
