The

Credit Analyst

supports the Credit Manager in managing credit operations for business-to-business (B2B) customers, including wholesalers, retailers, and all accounts. This role involves evaluating creditworthiness, managing collections, analyzing financial data, and maintaining compliance with company policies and risk management standards.

The ideal candidate possesses strong financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make independent credit decisions within defined guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Review and approve credit holds and order releases in accordance with company policies and established credit limits

Manage a designated portfolio of accounts, including credit reviews, collections, and customer communication

Conduct credit analysis by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and payment histories

Recommend and adjust credit limits based on risk assessment and company policy

Coordinate with external credit agencies, insurers, and financial institutions as needed

Prepare and maintain regular reports including aging summaries, past due analyses, and credit extension summaries for management review

Participate in monthly meetings with sales and management teams to discuss account status, delinquency trends, and deduction resolutions

File and maintain credit security documentation (e.g., UCC filings and security agreements)

Analyze customer financials, sales trends, and profitability to support ongoing credit decisions

Research and resolve payment discrepancies related to deductions, returns, and pricing adjustments

Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures related to credit management

Occasional travel may be required (up to 5%)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

Minimum of 4 years of experience in B2B credit and collections

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred

Strong understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work independently within defined parameters

Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
