Description

Job Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal production efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of electromechanical principles, along with a solid working knowledge of manufacturing machinery and processes.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Apply extensive knowledge of CNC machines and their operations.

• Disassemble, maintain, and repair systems and components such as power supplies, monitors, scaling devices, servomechanisms, and related mechanical assemblies.

• Repair electronic and electromechanical control equipment associated with automated machine tools and servomechanisms.

• Use test instruments to diagnose and evaluate machine issues, identify operational variations, replace or repair parts, and perform necessary adjustments.

• Replace, adjust, and calibrate components to ensure control apparatus meet operating specifications; align machine axes and systems as required.

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.

• Interpret and work from complex drawings, diagrams, and specifications involving electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.

• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

• Requisition necessary materials and parts to complete repairs and maintenance activities.

• Communicate effectively with vendors and machine builders; coordinate with engineers and mechanics on equipment installation and modifications to meet operational needs.

• Design and build custom electrical circuits for specialized applications.

• Design, install, and program logic devices and control systems.

• Plan and execute equipment moves or rearrangements in compliance with OSHA safety and health standards.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Trade school certificate or degree in a mechanical or electrical-related field with an emphasis on CNC machines preferred.

• Alternatively, 3-5 years of relevant experience, or a combination of trade school and hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining CNC control electronics, will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong knowledge of algebra and trigonometry preferred.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and deductive reasoning skills.

• Proven integrity, dependability, honesty, and accountability in all aspects of work.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.

• Regular use of hands and fingers to handle or operate tools and equipment.

• Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

• Ability to reach with hands and arms as required for equipment maintenance and repair.

• Work environment typically has a moderate noise level.

• Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or other environmental factors associated with manufacturing operations.
