HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) Location: 1555 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626 Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Call Requirement: As needed Position Overview: Seeking an experienced MS/Telemetry RN to provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires strong telemetry interpretation skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex medical and post-surgical patients with varying acuity levels. Experience & License Requirements: Experience: Minimum 1 year recent MS/Tele experience required Preferred: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience License: Active New York RN license (no pending licenses accepted) Certifications: BLS (Required) EPIC experience preferred First-Time Travelers: Accepted Locals: Not accepted (must reside >75 miles from facility) Patient Population & Diagnoses: Acute respiratory failure CHF COPD exacerbation Pneumonia Sepsis Pulmonary fibrosis Interstitial lung disease (ILD) Core Responsibilities & Skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Manage Amiodarone and Cardiac drips (non-titrating) Titration of insulin drips / IV insulin protocols Feeding tube and CBI management Pre/Post Hemodialysis care Blood product administration Peripheral and central line care (including PICC lines) Initiating IVs, Heparin protocols, PCA management Tracheostomy management, non-invasive airway management Chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), wound vacs, and ventilator support Activation of rapid response team Unit Details: Ratios: Day/Evening: 1:5 (may stretch to 6–7) Night: 1:6–7 (may stretch to 8–10 during call-ins) Support Staff: PCTs handle vitals, blood glucose, EKGs, and ADLs In-house phlebotomy team performs all peripheral lab draws Nurses responsible for central and PICC line draws Equipment Used: BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Chronic ventilators, tracheostomy care Chest tubes and wound vac systems About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) , proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs .
