Travel Nursing Job Details Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (OR RN) Location: Abilene, Texas 79601 (West Texas nursing jobs) Start Date: December 1, 2025 (must start 12/1 or 12/15) End Date: March 2, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:30 – 19:00); includes late days and call rotation Hours per Week: 36 Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $2,000 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience Craniotomy and burr hole experience (required for OR nursing jobs) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (CNOR preferred) Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred Previous charge nurse, trauma level I/II, and travel nursing experience preferred Ability to complete facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities Circulate and/or scrub for diverse surgical procedures: neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, general/robotics Demonstrate proficiency in craniotomy and burr hole procedures Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy) Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records Participate in call rotation and cover late shifts as needed Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages Support a positive, efficient, and adaptable operating room environment Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career in Abilene, Texas!
