Executive Search | Connecting Taste & Nutrition Businesses with Game-Changing Leadership | COO • VP Ops • Plant Management We’re looking for a seasoned EHS leader to shape and elevate safety, sustainability, and compliance programs at a key manufacturing site in Texas. You will have the opportunity to lead EHS in a high-visibility site, whilst having a seat at the table in shaping the site’s long-term sustainability strategy.
Responsibilities
Lead the site’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function, including team management, capability development, and performance excellence.
Foster a proactive, interdependent safety culture through visible leadership, engagement, and consistent standards.
Align EHS goals with site operational objectives; lead problem‑solving and learning from incidents to strengthen performance.
Ensure full compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, environmental) and internal policies.
Oversee audits, inspections, risk assessments, and training programs to identify and mitigate hazards before they occur.
Manage site metrics, reporting, permitting, and corrective actions with transparency and accountability.
Drive waste reduction and sustainability initiatives such as zero‑to‑landfill and energy efficiency programs.
Maintain and improve ISO 14001 certification in partnership with cross‑functional and corporate teams.
Implement contractor safety management and ensure compliance with all EHS standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
10+ years of EHS experience in food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing; at least 6 years in people leadership.
Deep understanding of OSHA standards, risk reduction, and machine safety principles.
Proven success in building and sustaining effective site‑wide EHS systems and programs.
Strong communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
Six Sigma or Lean certification (belt or applied project work).
Training in TapRooT® or similar root cause analysis methods.
