Responsibilities

Supports development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.

Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

Supports product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance.

Coordinates and/or supports the development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Supports the definition and documentation of certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.

Supports the development of analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Works independently receiving general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion.

Basic Qualifications

Basic knowledge of structural analysis, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g., non destructive testing, corrosion prevention).

Ability to analyze structure (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development, and modification of company products.

Basic knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil engineering, with an emphasis on structural related coursework.

Ability to support occasional domestic travel to support our customers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with analysis of aircraft propulsion structures.

Knowledge of relevant customer or governmental regulations for aircraft design, test, and certification (e.g., Part 25, MILSPEC).

Knowledge of structural repair principles (fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, repair techniques). Experience with structural repair, overhaul, nondestructive inspection, corrosion control, and composites.

Experience in Finite Element Analysis using stress analysis tools such as NASTRAN/PATRAN, HYPERMESH, ABAQUS, or other.

Experience with fatigue or durability analysis.

Pay Range Summary Level 2: 83,300‑112,700 Level 3: 98,600‑133,400 Level 4: 127,300‑163,300

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Export Control Requirements This position requires a U.S. Person, as defined by 22 CFR 120.15, including U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Education Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Required.
