Position Overview The Instructional & Assessment Coach supports high‑quality teaching and learning. The role provides instruction coaching, professional development, and school‑wide assessment management to enhance instructional practices, increase student achievement, and ensure equitable outcomes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with teachers to improve instructional planning, delivery, and assessment practices.

Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback aligned with school and district priorities.

Facilitate professional learning communities, data meetings, and targeted coaching cycles.

Support implementation of school‑wide instructional initiatives, curriculum alignment, and evidence‑based teaching strategies.

Model effective instructional practices, including differentiation, engagement, and culturally responsive pedagogy.

Analyze student performance data to identify trends and opportunities for instructional improvement.

Provide individualized coaching and professional development supporting teacher growth and student success.

Oversee all aspects of standardized and school‑based testing, including preparation, administration, and data analysis.

Coordinate testing logistics, materials, and schedules, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.

Train staff on testing procedures, security protocols, and accommodations.

Communicate testing information and updates to staff, students, and families.

Analyze assessment data to support instructional decision‑making and intervention planning.

Serve as a member of instructional leadership and MTSS teams.

Partner with administrators to align instructional priorities with school goals.

Support new teacher induction and mentoring.

Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high expectations.

Actively engage in student enrichment activities, meetings, retreats, outings, and evening events as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (Master’s preferred).

Eligibility for teaching certification.

Teaching experience with secondary youth.

Familiarity with research‑based instructional methods and curriculum development.

Strong data analysis and visual representation skills (Excel/Google Sheets).

Ability to work collaboratively to support academic and personal development.

Knowledge of student‑centered instruction, performance‑based assessments, and youth development principles.
