Electrical Engineer 3 - Grid

Hybrid work schedule

– blend of office and remote.

Responsibilities

Work in a project team with engineers and designers on detailed electrical design and project management of high voltage substation projects.

Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and execution.

Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.

Prepare reports that present technical and project information clearly and concisely to meet client requirements and S&L formats.

Share knowledge with experienced engineers through S&L’s systems of process and Communities of Practice.

Travel to client sites as needed.

Essential Skills And Experience

BSEE degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.

3+ years experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems.

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.

Tracking project information: schedules, expenditures against budgets, status reports, client interface.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.

Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience

1+ years experience designing substations 138 kV and above.

Prepare substation grounding, direct stroke shielding, battery & charger sizing calculations.

Physical layout and protection & controls experience.

Develop single line diagrams, relaying & metering diagrams, DC schematic diagrams, substation plans & sections, grounding plans.

Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards and National Electrical Safety Code.

PE license.

AutoCAD experience.

Compensation Range $72,690.00 – $106,250.00
