Associate or Experienced Aerospace Systems Safety and Airworthiness Engineer

As a Systems Safety Engineer you will engage with the entire life cycle of our Mobility & Surveillance programs, including KC‑46, P‑8, E‑7, VC‑25B, and selected Space & Launch initiatives. You will lead safety analysis, identify hazards, collaborate with design teams, and support airworthiness and mission systems safety.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and implement Systems Safety analysis activities (HTS/FTA/SSA, etc.)
Identify and mitigate potential and existing hazards
Collaborate with Engineering Design teams and learn aircraft subsystems
Ask tough questions and challenge conventional thinking to surface hazards
Assess engineering documents and data to determine safest cost‑effective solutions
Gather data from field, factory, and engineering to calculate probability and severity of outcomes
Collaborate with all levels of Engineering, Program Management, and Customers
Analyze operational safety issues and present findings to safety review boards
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution
Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience
Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Systems Safety and/or Systems Engineering disciplines
Experience in aviation safety systems engineering
Pay & Benefits
Associate (Level 2): $87,550 – $118,450
Experienced (Level 3): $104,550 – $141,450
Relocation:
Position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
Security Clearance:
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required; U.S. Secret Clearance required post‑start).
Safety Sensitive: No. Export Control compliance required – U.S. Person definition applies.
Employment type: Full‑time. Shift: 1 (United States of America).
