Key Responsibilities and Duties
Lead a cross‑functional team of budget, reimbursement, and compliance professionals, ensuring effective coordination and accurate financial planning and reporting.
Oversee preparation, monitoring, and analysis of the annual operating and departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial performance targets.
Manage and analyze hospital and physician reimbursement results, including preparation, review, and analysis of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer contracts.
Direct preparation and submission of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison for governmental and third‑party audits related to cost reporting and reimbursement.
Develop, maintain, and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure integrity and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Oversee preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with not‑for‑profit hospital and healthcare organization tax requirements.
Provide analysis and guidance on changes in reimbursement regulations and their potential financial impact.
Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate capture of cost, revenue, and statistical data used for cost reporting, rate setting, and decision‑making.
Develop and maintain financial forecasts related to reimbursement and payer mix to support operational and strategic planning.
Present financial and regulatory compliance updates to senior leadership and governing boards as requested.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and external consultants to support compliance and maximize reimbursement opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience in finance or accounting, preferably in healthcare or a similarly regulated industry.
Licensure / Certification:
CPA preferred.
