Insight Global is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant for a 6 month contract-to-hire position located in Charlotte, NC. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to work with large-scale payroll systems.
Base pay range $34.00/hr – $37.00/hr
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of professional experience as an Accountant
Experience completing journal entries and reconciliations
Ability to manage and maintain the core financial record system of an organization; the general ledger is the central repository for all financial transactions
Proficiency with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Additional accounting software experience
Understanding of payroll accounting principles and large-scale payroll systems
Job Description This is a 6 month contract to hire, 4 days on-site, 1 day remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries for high-volume transactions.
Perform detailed account reconciliations for payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Maintain and review general ledger entries related to payroll and benefits.
Collaborate with payroll operations to ensure accurate tax and compliance reporting.
Support month-end and year-end close processes for payroll accounts.
Prepare ad‑hoc reports and analyses for management and auditors.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company policies.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in payroll accounting.
