SPEECH PATHOLOGIST (SLP), OUTPATIENT - PER DIEM Location: OCEAN MEDICAL CENTER, Brick, New Jersey. Shift: Day. Status: Per Diem. Requisition #: 2024-153580.

Responsibilities

Prepare for evaluation of the patient/client in accordance with departmental policies/procedures and standards of practice, including obtaining patient history, administering appropriate tests and measurements accurately and efficiently.

Integrate and synthesize evaluation results, behavioral observations and information obtained from history to develop diagnostic impressions, goals and make recommendations based on findings.

Establish a plan of care with the client/patient/family based on functional, measurable, and realistic long and short term goals.

Perform all functions associated with the execution of therapeutic treatment for all age groups within the department's responsibility. Treatment reflects age and developmentally appropriate activities determined through analysis of data.

Use a systematic approach to clinical decision making, utilize reassessment to modify goals, progress treatment, or recommend discontinuation of therapy.

Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs (age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). Communicate with patient, parent, and primary caregiver(s) at appropriate level.

Document in accordance with policies and procedures, collecting and recording accurate data; record charges based on services provided.

Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day.

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies, standards of behavior, and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.

Experience preferred; CF/entry level acceptable.

Licenses & Certifications Required

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) issued by the American Speech‑Language and Hearing Association.

Eligible for temporary or permanent license in the State of New Jersey as a Speech‑Language Pathologist.

AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification for new hires starting 01/01/2024.

Licenses & Certifications Preferred

Specialty certifications.

Compensation Flat Rate of $59.22 Hourly.

Job Duties The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted rate of pay based on a number of non‑discriminatory factors, including but not limited to labor market data, experience, education and certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget and grant funding. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
