Job Summary: Join our compassionate, collaborative team as a Benefits Eligibility Advocate, where you will empower individuals and families to access essential healthcare coverage through Medicaid. This important role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable populations by providing education, guidance, and direct support throughout the enrollment and renewal process. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational skills, empathy, and a customer service mindset. Your contributions will help ensure compliance with Medicaid policies while supporting revenue cycle operations.

In this position, you will serve as a vital liaison between clients, team members, and the Family Support Division (FSD), assisting with accurate and timely documentation to facilitate healthcare access for those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

Educate clients about Medicaid benefits, coverage options, and enrollment responsibilities.

Assist eligible clients by completing and submitting initial benefit applications.

Monitor application status and follow up with the Family Support Division (FSD) to ensure timely processing of benefits.

Review Medicaid Reauthorization Reports and schedule client appointments for renewals.

Ensure accurate and timely submission of required documentation to the Family Support Division.

Coordinate the Medicaid application process with direct care staff to ensure accuracy.

Regularly check Medicaid status for assigned clients and report lapsed coverage as directed.

Act as a liaison between clients, staff, and the Family Support Division to resolve questions or concerns.

Stay informed on Medicaid regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in social services, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.

Two years of experience in benefits advocacy, Medicaid enrollment, healthcare access, or a related role.

Experience working with diverse populations in healthcare, social services, or community-based settings is strongly preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
