What is a General Manager? The General Manager works with his/her leader to set the restaurant’s goals and create a plan to achieve them. The GM is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of Shift and Department Managers, setting goals, following up on progress, and providing coaching and direction.
Helps managers set their own goals, follow up, and improve their departments.
Responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers.
Works with leader to set restaurant goals and plan to achieve them.
Qualifications
Previous General Manager experience running high‑volume locations.
Hamburger University graduate or equivalent.
Technical experience with OTP2 or OTP3 certifications desired.
Background in quick‑service restaurants, hospitality, or retail.
Must be 18 years or older for corporate owned and operated restaurants.
