JOB TITLE : Chief Executive Officer LOCATION : Jacksonville, FL

COMPENSATION : $237,185 – $355,778

OVERVIEW As President and CEO of the First Coast YMCA, you will provide visionary and strategic leadership to ensure the organization’s continued mission impact, operational excellence, community relevance, and financial sustainability.

You will partner with the Board of Directors, staff, philanthropic partners, and community leaders to strengthen the YMCA’s presence and legacy throughout the First Coast region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the development and implementation of the YMCA’s strategic plan, defining clear implementation plans, deliverables, and measurable goals.

Steward fundraising efforts, including an annual fundraising plan and capital campaigns, to meet the organization’s financial goals.

Oversee fiscal management, ensuring sustainable operations and balancing the budget through earned revenue growth and cost control.

Build and lead a high‑performance staff, fostering an inclusive, mission‑driven culture and ensuring talent development.

Act as an ambassador for the YMCA, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and positioning the organization as a community partner for change.

Direct overall YMCA operations across multiple branches, ensuring safe, relevant, and sustainable practices.

Develop an effective volunteer board and support governance best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Business Administration, Human Services, or related field.

At least 10 years of executive leadership experience, ideally in a YMCA or nonprofit with complex, multi‑site operations.

Proven track record in strategic planning and execution, board & staff development, financial oversight & fundraising, and community partnership building.

Advanced fiscal management and budgetary leadership.

YMCA Organizational Leader certification (required within 3 years).

Recognition as a community peer among top‑level civic and corporate leaders.

Fiscal sound business management approach.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT The CEO must be highly engaged and resident in the YMCA’s service area.
