IT SAM and Configuration Analyst
The
IT SAM and Configuration Analyst
is responsible for maintaining accurate records of IT asset tools and configuration items ( CIs ) throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures data integrity within the Configuration Management Database ( CMDB ), supports
SAM
processes, and contributes to effective IT service delivery and compliance.
What you’ll do: Configuration Management
You’ll maintain and update the
CMDB
with accurate
CI
data and relationships.
You’ll perform regular audits and reconciliation of configuration data.
You’ll ensure compliance with configuration management policies and standards.
You’ll drive adoption, educate on best practices, identify process gaps and work to improve.
Asset Management
You’ll monitor asset lifecycle, including warranty and support contracts. This includes maintaining an accurate inventory of software assets, including installations, entitlements, and usage.
You’ll be an active participant in internal and external licensing audits, providing accurate and timely data and collaborating on compliance, identification and reduction of licensing related processes and risks.
You’ll develop and enforce software asset management ( SAM ) policies and procedures.
You’ll educate stakeholders on software usage policies and compliance requirements.
You may assist in contract negotiations, renewals or true-up processes.
What you’ll need:
You have 2-4 years of experience with
CMDB tools
( BMC Helix, BMC Discovery, ServiceNow ) and/or
SAM tools
( Flexera,
).
To thrive in this role, you have a strong understanding of software licensing models (e.g., per-user, per-device, subscription).
You have familiarity with IT asset lifecycle processes.
You have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Certifications (Preferred):
ITIL Foundation Certification
Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional ( CHAMP )
Certified Software Asset Manager ( CSAM )
The starting pay range for this position is: $117,600.00 - $156,400.00
Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
