Executive Director (ED) About Mothers Against Media Addiction MAMA’s mission is to end childhood screen addiction, support families in raising healthy kids, and prevent runaway tech. We do this by educating parents, getting smartphones out of schools, and ensuring technology products have basic safeguards like other consumer products. Our goal is to live in a world where real-life experiences and interactions remain at the heart of a healthy childhood. Position Overview MAMA seeks an experienced, strategic, and mission-driven Director of Development to lead the organization’s fundraising strategy and implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing movement at a pivotal moment, helping to secure the philanthropic investment that will sustain MAMA’s national expansion and deepen its impact. The Director of Development will oversee all aspects of MAMA’s fundraising program, with a strong focus on institutional and major giving. They will also build systems to strengthen pipeline development, stewardship, and long-term revenue sustainability. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual and multi-year revenue goals. Partner closely with the Executive Director to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and institutional funders. Create and manage a moves management system to track donor engagement, progress toward goals, and key relationships. Collaborate with MAMA’s leadership and communications teams to align fundraising strategy with campaign and program goals. Institutional Giving Research and identify potential foundation, corporate, and family office funders aligned with MAMA’s mission. Write and edit compelling concept notes, proposals, and reports. Manage relationships with current funders and ensure timely and accurate reporting. Build strategic partnerships with institutional funders to advance shared priorities around youth mental health, digital safety, and technology reform. Major Giving Build and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, including HNWI Develop and execute personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies, including events, briefings, and one-on-one engagement. Partner with the Executive Director and board to strengthen major donor relationships and support peer-to-peer fundraising. Systems & Operations Oversee systems for donor tracking, acknowledgment, and reporting in our CRM. Produce regular fundraising dashboards and updates for internal and board use. Working closely with the Operations Team to ensure accurate donation data. Develop communications to ensure consistent, donor-centered messaging and materials. You may be a good fit if you have: 6+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with significant success securing six- and seven-figure gifts from foundations and major donors. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with high-level donors and institutional partners. Exceptional knowledge of philanthropic communities and networks. Strategic thinker who can balance big-picture planning with day-to-day execution. Experience working in a startup or movement-building environment preferred. Experience using Bonterra/EveryAction or similar CRM platform. Familiarity with planned giving and endowment fundraising. Deep commitment to MAMA’s mission and values. Compensation and Benefits: Annual Salary: $90,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience Benefits include generous and flexible paid time off; health, dental, vision Come Work With Us! We are a fully remote team with the expectation that you will be available during certain hours to accommodate meetings across time zones (generally 10 AM-2 PM ET).
