Our Firm is growing! We have an immediate opening for a family law attorney with 3-10 years or more of experience in divorce, including child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and characterization and division of property.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Family Law Attorney, located in Santa Rosa, CA. The Family Law Attorney will handle a range of responsibilities, including representing clients in family law matters, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and providing legal advice. Regular tasks include preparing for mediations, court appearances, and hearings, as well as negotiating settlements and maintaining case files with accuracy. The attorney will also work collaboratively with colleagues to develop strategies that effectively address client needs. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a friendly, caring and collegial environment with highly experienced attorneys and staff. A qualified candidate will be afforded in‑court opportunities and other hands‑on training.
Qualifications
Expertise in Family Law, including experience handling cases related to divorce, child custody, spousal support, and other family law matters.
Strong skills in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and parenting plans.
Proficiency in conducting legal research and analyzing case law to build strong legal strategies.
Exceptional abilities in negotiation, mediation, and courtroom advocacy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and collaboration with team members.
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Active membership in the California State Bar and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Prior experience in family law practice preferred; knowledge of local courts and procedures is an advantage.
Book of business is a plus but not required. Residence in the North Bay is strongly preferred.
