Tax Manager (Cambridge, MA)
Compensation $120K–$150K Base
About the Role A well‑established investment management organization supporting a world‑class educational institution is expanding its team and looking for a Tax Manager to join its collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to work with a diverse portfolio of investment entities, assist with tax compliance, and contribute to meaningful financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Associate Director of Finance and central tax team in preparing and reviewing tax returns for investment entities (including 1065s, 8802s, 1042s, PFICs, and foreign controlled corporations)
Work with external tax preparers and consultants to ensure accuracy of tax filings
Liaise with accounting and reporting teams on investment accounting and financial statement matters
Monitor and analyze investment income excise taxes and other tax obligations
Facilitate regulatory reporting for U.S. and international jurisdictions
Assist in audits and support completion of financial statements for investment affiliates
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
5+ years of experience in asset management or private funds financial and tax accounting
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and tax rules as they apply to investment companies and private fund structures
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with fair value financial reporting a plus
Ability to work from Cambridge, MA offices at least two days per week.
