Requirements The Business Development Manager directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans.

Key Responsibilities

Identifying New Business Opportunities

Responsible for driving business development and supporting Mass Virtual’s goals and positioning within the industry.

Develops and leads capture efforts/win strategies, technical solutions, and partnerships.

Strategic Planning

Drives and participates in strategy development, strategic pursuit development, competitor analysis and market research.

Building Relationships

Builds and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners to ensure long‑term success and repeat business.

Market Analysis

Monitors industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform business strategies and ensure competitive advantage.

Team Leadership

Manages business development team through training and development, delegation, goal management, performance management, and conflict resolution.

Communicates all company‑wide and department‑wide communications to direct reports.

Understands, communicates, and executes company policies and procedures to direct reports.

Monitors PTO and other leave requests and reviews and approves them based on company and production needs.

Is responsible for all hiring and termination needs for direct reports in partnership with People Operations.

Collaboration

Leads and coordinates cross‑functional teams to ensure the successful execution of strategies and projects.

Reporting

Tracks the increase in revenue generated from new and current business opportunities.

Measures the number of new clients acquired.

Tracks client satisfaction/retention rate.

Monitors the percentage of leads that are converted into sales and the total value of potential deals in the sales pipeline.

Budget Management

Manages the budget for the sales engineering department, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
