Responsibilities The Associate Director, Demand Planning is a critical role within the BioMarin Supply Chain function that will require close engagement and interaction with the Commercial, Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A), Global Supply Chain, and Operations. This remote‑based role in the United States involves the management, execution and continuous improvement of the overall demand planning process, including the approval of a realistic and aligned demand plan that correlates to the financial plan. The role utilizes analytical, marketing and sales data to estimate future product demands and generate a 36‑month demand plan. It monitors and reports essential changes to sales forecasts, business strategies and budgets, and collaborates with finance, regional/country and commercial forecasting teams to support company management with risk assessment, proposing and implementing solutions that improve demand forecasts. The Associate Director also has direct oversight of assigned country/market level responsibilities, ensuring that business needs and escalations are proactively addressed through monthly demand meetings and Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) meetings. This role is a key member of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, translating the demand plan into a supply plan that informs make‑buy decisions and activities.

Experience with AI‑based demand planning and basic automation/AI/ML functionality in existing forecasting tools.

Proficiency using technology tools that enable demand planning and reporting.
Ability to use technology tools that facilitate collaboration with external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into high‑level analysis and demand planning.

Strong mathematical/statistical knowledge and experience with common data software.
Evaluate scenarios with end‑to‑end supply chain impact in mind.
Ability to refine and train algorithms to aid analysis and scenario planning.

Experience: Proven experience in forecasting processes across sales, marketing operations, finance, and manufacturing; 8‑10 years’ experience in modeling, demand planning, forecasting or market analysis; demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously; accustomed to using a variety of technology tools and applications; experience working in a team‑based environment; experience with demand and supply reconciliation and gap recognition within the planning process and assumptions.
Success Criteria: Demand plan—a forecast with ranges shaped and finalized through a collaborative, consensus‑driven process that optimizes the balance between market opportunity and supply network capability; Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) inputs: weekly, rolling detailed forecast and monthly, rolling volume forecast with ranges, key assumptions, and facilitated alignment with interdepartmental functions.
