Registered Nurse – PACU – 36hr Rotating

Schedule 3x12hr rotating shifts, Monday–Friday – No weekends or holidays. Minimal call requirement.
Responsibilities
Perform duties during the post anesthesia recovery phase:
Assessment of all PACU patients for physical and psychological needs.
Accurate documentation of post‑operative vital signs and pain assessments.
Communicate with and teach patients and home caregivers regarding post‑operative condition and expectations after discharge.
Recognize symptoms of cardiac and respiratory arrest and other impending health crises; intervene appropriately.
Collaborate with other professional caregivers regarding patient condition.
Competent in the use of equipment used to provide safe patient care.
Coordinate care of the patient with the surgeon, anesthesiologist and other personnel as required.
Perform other duties as needed (e.g., stocking, room turnover, assisting in pre‑op or PACU).
Maintain current education file and required licenses or certifications.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and in‑services.
Adhere to professional expectations: positive cooperation, continuous learning, policy implementation, leadership, and patient safety initiatives.
Maintain collaborative work relationships with peers and colleagues.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
MA RN license required.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
Minimum of two years recent RN experience in PACU or critical care; previous experience starting IVs preferred.
Experience in a fast‑paced team environment required.
ASPAN certification strongly preferred.
Vaccination against influenza (flu) required as a condition of employment.
