Job Summary The Director of TRIO program reports to the Associate Dean of the Center for Student Support (CSS) and provides leadership for all TRIO programming at Lansing Community College (LCC), including the federally funded Student Support Services (SSS) program. SSS, one of eight national TRIO programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education, is designed to promote student success by increasing college retention and graduation rates through academic support, assistance with college requirements, and motivation toward degree completion.
The Director is responsible for planning and coordinating program activities, supervising personnel, ensuring compliance with federal and institutional policies, and overseeing all grant operations. This includes managing outcomes, metrics, fiscal accountability, reporting, and renewal or pursuit of future TRIO funding opportunities.
This is a provisional position based on grant funding and subject to end at any time.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Student Affairs or related field.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and email applications.
Demonstrated experience in the grant application process.
Demonstrated experience in grant funded programs, including administration, fiscal management, required reporting, program design, staff supervision and program evaluation.
Excellent written communication and public speaking/presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with TRIO programs.
Two years’ experience working with adult learners, and neurodivergent students.
