We are seeking a hands‑on Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Platform Engineering team. You’ll design, build, and maintain cloud platforms that power critical business applications and enable advanced analytics, AI, and geospatial workloads in Databricks on AWS. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions. What You’ll Do
Design, develop, configure, and enhance cloud platforms and applications with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and performance. Lead cloud modernization initiatives and automate operations using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Packer. Manage containerized environments with Kubernetes and Docker, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Write automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Node.js to streamline cloud provisioning and operations. Support CI/CD pipelines and the release management process. Troubleshoot complex cloud/platform issues and conduct root‑cause analysis. Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams, with experience in Databricks, to influence platform strategy and solution design. Contribute to emerging AI and geospatial analytics initiatives, including enabling GIS data ingestion and analytics infrastructure. Provide technical guidance on API‑led integrations, cloud solutions, and best practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Occasionally support off‑hours deployments, upgrades, and critical incident resolution. Required
5+ years of hands‑on cloud or platform engineering experience, particularly with AWS. Expertise with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer), container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Node.js). Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Familiarity with data engineering or analytics platforms like Databricks is highly preferred. Strong understanding of networking within cloud environments, cybersecurity, and storage concepts. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. Exceptional problem‑solving, collaboration, and communication skills; ability to clearly convey technical recommendations to stakeholders. Preferred
AWS certification. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, or similar). Proven ability to think creatively, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate across technical and business teams. Self‑directed learner, staying current with evolving cloud technologies and pursuing relevant certifications. Seniority level
