Nordstrom The Data Analyst 2 will support the Inventory Audit organization at Nordstrom, collaborating with cross‑functional business teams to deliver advanced analytics, reporting, and data storytelling. This role focuses on actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and optimize business performance, with a strong emphasis on data integrity, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities
Own the intake, management, and integrity of all data utilized by the Inventory Audit Programs (IAP) team. Champion the data needs and priorities of the IAP team with key data/business partners across Nordstrom. Create compelling narratives and provide trends and insights to drive improvement (e.g., high cancel rates). Own the process, flow, and accuracy of data from all supported systems. Provide support on data design requirements and delivery for all programs and initiatives. Support business analysts in developing effective reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Identify and develop new measures and KPIs that support ongoing changes in programs, systems, and processes. Support modernization of reporting and data visualization programs. Provide support during program testing and user acceptance testing phases. Develop and maintain guidelines for data usage, ensuring consistency in reporting and analysis. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields. 3–5 years of relevant experience in data management, analysis, and reporting. Demonstrated proficiency (3+ years) in SQL, including writing performant, maintainable queries and optimizing code for production use. Advanced experience in data visualization (Tableau, Power BI), building interactive dashboards, and applying user experience principles. Strong statistical expertise, applying descriptive and inferential methods (hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, confidence intervals). Experience integrating and synthesizing data from multiple sources, with proficiency in data wrangling and transformation techniques. Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based data platforms (AWS, GCP) and scalable data solutions. Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines, workflow orchestration, and data quality assurance. Advanced programming experience in Python or R, automating workflows and performing complex analyses. Experience defining and evaluating KPIs, with a strong understanding of modeling and performance metrics. Expertise in writing clean, version‑controlled code (Git), code review, modularization, and documentation. Applied skills in SQL, AWS Analytics and Database, Teradata, Tableau Server, Alteryx or similar. Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting modernization of reporting and data visualization programs. Experience translating ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches. Strong understanding of data warehousing, query construction and dimensional data modeling. Comfort in presenting to business stakeholders and leadership. Strong operational business understanding, including the impact of business decisions on stakeholders and systems. Benefits
