About the Role
The Pavilion at Queens is seeking a Director of Maintenance to join our interdisciplinary team of skilled health‑care professionals at our skilled nursing facility of 302 beds.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds to ensure proper care of the community in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards/regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility for safety, upkeep, appearance, and equipment performance.
Supervise and assign maintenance staff responsibilities and schedules.
Schedule and ensure completion of all maintenance and repairs.
Provide oversight of maintenance/repairs and ensure contracted services are completed in a timely fashion.
Perform routine repairs of building, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, and painting.
Maintain records of all repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties, and inspections.
Coordinate department operations, budgets, and monitor expenditures.
Recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and supervise maintenance staff.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with State, Federal, and OSHA standards.
Be available “on call” for emergency situations.
Maintain all DOH logs and inspections.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years of nursing home experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to multitask, stay on task, and maintain focus in stressful situations.
Evidence of solid leadership and supervision skills.
